Associate Dean of STEM Outreach, Recruitment and Retention

Liaison for major industry/academic collaborations involving National Center for Advanced Manufacturing and GE Capital focusing on student retention and recruitment in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields.

STEM outreach and recruitment coordinator for the College - Serve as a College of Sciences outreach coordinator for the K-12 community. Expand outreach activities to maximize undergraduate recruiting opportunities (including high school and middle school visits).Participate in the writing of grant proposals for K-12 STEM education.

Coordinate on campus recruiting events (e.g. visits to College of Sciences Departments by prospective undergraduates).

Collaborate with the Colleges of Education and Engineering on STEM outreach with Boston Museum of Science and NCAM Education initiative.

Recruit prospective science majors from local and regional high schools (across all departments in the College of Sciences).

Qualifications

Ph.D. in science, education or public policy discipline and 5 years of experience in community outreach, bridging academics and the public sector, project management, and success in grant writing, budgeting, and coordination. Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks on time. Excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills. Project supervisory and staff management experience with strong communication skills. Ability to foster collaborative partnerships and work well with students, faculty, staff, and K-12 students. Event planning, coordinating and management experience.
