System Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs

The South Dakota Board of Regents (SDBOR) is searching for a System Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs. The successful incumbent will support the system's academic mission to enhance academic quality by assuming responsibilities for areas assigned and by managing these areas with support and direction of the system Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). Specific areas may include, but are not limited to, development and review of undergraduate and graduate academic programs and procedures, link with South Dakota workforce needs, distance education, academic partnerships, oversight of and compliance with system and state policies and guidelines, and regional and national accreditation criteria.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications: A Doctoral degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Five or more years of academic experience in higher education or in positions that support education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable to the hiring authority. The ability to effectively communicate, work with multiple initiatives and with multiple constituencies, read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, work with mathematical concepts and to think and plan strategically.
