Assistant Professor of Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy (physics.cofc.edu) at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in physics to begin in the fall of 2014. Candidates must have a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate physics courses at all levels. The incumbent must also establish and sustain a successful research program that involves undergraduate students, preferably in experimental condensed matter physics. Candidates who can interface with industry, and/or those who can help support and potentially expand the energy production concentration, are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have, or expect to complete, a PhD in physics or a closely related field before August 15, 2014. Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
