Professor Chairman's Office
Reporting directly to the CEO and President, this extraordinary leader will provide leadership, direction and development to all clinical, research and academic activities within the Department of Family & Community Medicine. In addition, the Chair will motivate and develop faculty and staff by accurately assessing and addressing their developmental needs. The Chair will also be expected to maintain a clinical practice; to continue to treat patients as appropriate; to be responsible for the clinical education and training of students, residents and fellows; to oversee their interaction with and treatment of patients; and to sustain and advance opportunities in basic, translational and clinical research.
*Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.
*Must have ten years or more of academic practice experience and superb leadership experience.
*Must be qualified for faculty appointment in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the rank of Professor.
*Must have national recognition as a clinical leader, clinician scientist, and/or educator
