Dean Of School Of Engineering & Computer Science

The Ritchie School is home to the Departments of Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical and Materials Engineering plus several research institutes and centers. The School employs 32 full-time appointed faculty and 11 staff, enrolls 350 undergraduate and 175 graduate students and offers bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs. Presently in the midst of an $80M capital campaign, the School will begin construction on a $55M building in early 2014 that will include state-of-the-art instructional and research facilities. Building on the strength of existing faculty expertise, new tenure-line faculty positions are planned in the areas of biomedical engineering, mechatronic systems engineering and computer software systems.

Qualifications

Required Experience

Five years of academic administrative experience comparable to a department chair or higher or five years of senior managerial experience in industry.
A demonstrated track record of obtaining external support for research.
Demonstrated capacity to succeed in fund raising and development.
Evidence of leadership in organizational advancement and change, and demonstrated management experience.
Demonstrated experience with planning and budget oversight.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and success in advancing diversity, broadly defined.
