Senior Associate Dean For Academic Affairs - Tenure Associate Or Full ProfessorAmerican University’s School of Public Affairs invites applications from accomplished scholars for the position of senior associate dean for academic affairs. This position would include a faculty appointment with tenure at the rank of associate or full professor in one of the school’s three departments: Government; Justice, Law and Society; or Public Administration and Policy. The position, which will begin no later than August 15, 2014, offers the unique professional, research, social, and cultural opportunities of a top-ranked school and university located in Washington, D.C. In addition, the position offers the opportunity to take a critical role in formulating school policy and development and to serve on a dynamic leadership team.
QualificationsCandidates must possess a distinguished record of scholarship in one of the academic fields encompassed by the school’s departments and meet American University’s standards for appointment with tenure at the associate or full professor level. Preference will be given to candidates who have held leadership positions at the university, school, department or program level and who can also provide evidence of advancing their university’s academic standing, scholarship, or research productivity.
