Dean Of The College Of Engineering And Applied Science The University of Wyoming invites nominations, applications, and expressions of interest for the position of Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS). Nominees and applicants from diverse backgrounds are most welcome. The Dean, who reports directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and is assisted by two Associate Deans, is responsible for all academic and fiduciary aspects of the College, including teaching, research, facilities, and both personnel and fiscal matters. The successful candidate will possess outstanding leadership skills and the ability to serve as an articulate and zealous representative of, and advocate for, the College's programs, locally, in Wyoming, nationally and internationally. The college is currently slated for major growth, strongly supported by the State Legislature. That growth includes a $100 million-plus CEAS facility expansion and a projected near-doubling of operational and personnel support over the next 5 to 10 year period. These additions are intended to elevate programs in the College to achieve a Tier 1 status as charged by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead and his appointed Energy, Engineering, STEM Integration Task Force. The Dean will lead the effort to achieve these ambitious goals. Thus, this represents a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to build a premier college, with broad national and international recognition, focused on educating and mentoring our students at the highest levels, advancing science and engineering, and helping catalyze the economic development of Wyoming and beyond.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and a distinguished record in teaching, research, scholarship, and service sufficient to merit the rank of full professor and tenure in one of the departments of the College. Applications and expressions of interest are encouraged from individuals in any discipline represented in the College. Individuals meeting the above criteria but also have successful executive-level experience in complex organizations outside of academia are also encouraged to apply.
