Dean Of The Graduate SchoolThe Dean of the Graduate School serves as the academic leader of graduate education within the University, chairs the University Graduate Council, and represents the University on the statewide committee that advises the Chancellor of the University System of Ohio on graduate education and new graduate program development.
QualificationsAn earned doctorate and extensive record of professional accomplishment in a research intensive discipline, commensurate with appointment to the rank of professor;
Extensive record of experience with graduate education through the doctoral level;
A demonstrated commitment to shared governance, collaboration, and program excellence;
Experience working with regional and statewide economic development agencies, and an understanding of the interface between academic inquiry and the private and government sectors;
Experience enhancing graduate program strengths and in optimizing graduate student support and research opportunities;
A fundamental understanding of university research administration;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and personal characteristics that include integrity, openness, energy, intellect, dignity, optimism, vision, and the ability to listen, persuade, and show appreciation of the efforts of others;
Successful Administrative Experience (equivalent or higher) as Chair, Associate Dean, Program Director, or Dean;
Graduate Student Recruitment Experience;
Ability to Work Well with Chairs, Deans, External Constituents (such as Industry Executives, Healthcare Professionals, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base leadership).
