Chair, Department Of Polymer And Fiber EngineeringAuburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is seeking a Chair for the Department of Polymer & Fiber Engineering to provide vision and leadership that enhances the Department, College and University’s tradition of excellence in teaching, research, service, outreach and diversity. The initial appointment is for a five year term, renewable for consecutive terms. Successful candidates must possess a distinguished record of teaching, research and scholarship as well as excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.
QualificationsConsistent with the goals of the College of Engineering, applicants must articulate a clear vision and demonstrate the qualities necessary to lead a dynamic faculty toward a higher level of excellence. The Department Chair must have the academic and professional qualifications to be awarded tenure at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate should have a record of research excellence and demonstrated leadership in an area that enhances current and emerging strengths of the Department including (but not limited to): advanced polymeric systems, processing composites, nanostructured materials, macromolecules, soft materials, thin films, plastics and/or biomedical materials. Research approaches that integrate modeling and experimentation are highly desired.
