Assistant/associate/full Professor Chemical & Petroleum EngrPOSITION: The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (CPE) and The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department (PHCH) at the University of Kansas (KU) are seeking an outstanding candidate at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. Applicants are encouraged at the Assistant and Associate level, although exceptional candidates at a higher rank will be considered.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. before effective date of appointment. This faculty position is among those released as part of the School of Engineering Building on Excellence Initiative.
QualificationsPreferred applicants will already have a background in chemical engineering or similar discipline with a focus on novel vaccine design and/or delivery approaches mentioned above. The addition of this faculty member is expected to strengthen the technical foundation and reputation of KU in both the academic and industrial realms of vaccines and biotechnology. In summary, it is expected that the recruited faculty member will make a positive impact on research, teaching and service in The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering and The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
PhD degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field, expected by start date of appointment (August 18, 2014).
Strong record of research and training in engineering and vaccines or closely related fields.
Evidence of ability to teach core and elective courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in chemical engineering.
