The University of Hull is making a significant investment in the Department of Chemistry by appointing six new academic staff at different stages in their careers. The Department has undergone significant expansion over recent years with significant investment both in staff and facilities – making us one of the largest and most prestigious departments within the University. You will contribute to building on this success.

We are seeking to recruit a Professor of Analytical Chemistry to contribute to the Department’s Chemical Process Technology research theme and to engage in interdisciplinary research. Expertise in areas complimentary to our current research such as, but not restricted to, lab on chip, sensors, process analysis and flow chemistry will be welcome.

You will be expected to be a keen ambassador for the department’s achievements, both internally and to a broader external audience, building relationships and seeking opportunities to optimise the impact of the work we do. You will also strive to enhance further the high-quality teaching we deliver and promote the employability of our undergraduate and postgraduate students through curricula that are current, research-led and internationally reputable, thus giving our students an exceptional learning experience. At professorial level you will have an internationally acclaimed research profile and be able to demonstrate a significant track record in external grant income. Your leadership ability will be second-to-none and you will impress us with your contribution to significant and positive outcomes at University / Institution level. We particularly appreciate collaborative working and openness, as well as ambition and determination to succeed.
