Open Positions

The University of Tasmania has been Open to Talent since 1890.

In 2013 and 2014 we are recruiting up to 25 outstanding academic leaders and scholars in areas of high strategic strength in order to build on the internationally recognised capability of the University and to develop emerging areas of high potential. There will be five open or undesignated positions each year. Appointments will be continuing (not fixed-term) and located in either Hobart or Launceston.

The positions may at Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level and will have close alignment with and add value to the strengths in research and in learning and teaching of the University.

* well-established academic careers
* demonstrated research outputs that significantly exceed the requirements for appointment
and promotion set out in Opening UTAS to Talent: The UTAS Academic
* a strong fit with the Strategic Plan Open to Talent of the University and discipline-specific and
established cross-disciplinary profiles.
